Hi ,
We are running an application called PROGESA which is a combination of
Oracle and PRO/5 on a Compaq Alpha 1200 with 1GB of memory, 2 x 531 Mhz
CPU's and DEC Unix 4.0d. The Progesa software is written by a company
called Mak in France for Blood Transfusion and Donor services.
Everything runs and appears to be fine. Accept, when a user steps back
through the menu or when they print barcode labels and anomalies , then
both CPUs drop down to 50%-30% idle, the system start paging and the
user complains of bad response. Once this process is finished
performance returns to normal.
We did an Oracle trace on the procedures but that did not find anything
exiting.
Any idea where I can start to resolve this problem?
Thanks in advance.
