binlog-buffer-size and syslog

After I recently an extra controller to my kernel configuration and
rebooted, the boot records that appear in uerf and the messages were
truncated. Only about 5 lines were about instead of the previous 60-70.
This machine has a lot of scsi controllers and disks, including an
HSZ50.

I suspect that the kernel parameter binlog-buffer-size is too small.

Has anyone seen this problem before and am I on the right track?

How can I determine the current value of binlog-buffer-size? The admin
manual says something between 32kb and 1MB.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Chris Wilson
