Hi All,
I have a weird situation with 2 Alpha 4100's running Trucluster ASE v1.5. On
Saturday, I rebuilt the kernel of one (the test server) and then rebooted. It
then complained that it couldnt see a director and wouldnt run asemgr.
Then whilst trying to work out what was wrong with this Alpha, I somehow (i
think through asemember restart) managed to wipe out the asedirector on the
production machine. When I did a asemember restart on the production machine,
unmounted the prod filesystem.
I then did an asemember restart on the test system, and it started an
asedirector and mounted the prod filesystem.
Now the prod system complains with the same errors as I was getting earlier on
the test system. These errors are:
Asemgr Error: we're net partitioned from the director
Asemgr Error: *** ALERT: Net partition or disconnect - can not find a director.
Both systems talk to each other via a memory channel. From one system, I can't
ping the other systems end of the memory channel.
Does anyone have any ideas what is wrong and what I should do about it?
Any help will be greatfully received.
Thanks Ruth Belin
