(?) Force text-mode installation for Tru64 UNIX

Howdy,

        I need to perform a text-mode install on an Alpha PWS-500au, but
can't figure out how to start the install without the X-server starting.
The monitor I have connected is an old VRC-16 which, unfortunately,
apparently will not work with the X-Server and the video card I'm using.
When the Xserver starts, the screen blanks and I'm pretty much stuck. I
tried to boot in single-user mode (boot dka0 -fl s) but it STILL tries to
start up X. Anybody got any ideas?
