The most informative reply was from Dr Tom Blinn. He said that the onboard SCSI
controllers have been disabled due to problems with the chip itself. These
controllers are Adaptec AIC-7895 which he said were not supported under DEC
Unix. There were originally designed for use in NT systems but when the bug was
found it was easier to disable the chips rather than remove them. Thus the DS20
comes with two fully-non-functioning onboard SCSI controllers.
