Printing

I have a printer that is not printing the correct number of copies
requested. The cf control file appears to have the 5 "links" to print 5
requested copies, yet only one gets printed (lpd -l & lpd.debug logging
enabled). What would cause the lpd daemon to ignore the cf file and just
print 1 copy of the report?
This system is 4.0D, PK3. Thanks in advance.
