Thanks to John Becker from compaq <John.Becker_at_COMPAQ.com> who sent me
the attached diagram, and to Shane Feeney <Shane_at_bcn.com.au> who sent
loads of stuff (too much to stick in here). In the interim I also
managed to find the hardware manual on a Digital website:

Out with the soldering iron and the maniacal grin...

Sorry this is a bit off-topic...
Having problems with a DECServer700-16 used as a dial-in access server.
Right now I don't know for sure if the problem is with the DECServer,
the modems, the cabling or the less than ideal phone lines, so I'm
trying to narrow things down. The DECServer has 16 MJ8 (aka RJ45)
connectors, modems have regular DB-25, I'm looking for the correct
cable-spec or the pinout of the MJ8 (or even the correct Digital part no
of a ready made cable).
Any help much appreciated, thanks,
Simon
