Hello Gurus,
we are experiencing trouble with a greenbar printer after it runs out of
paper. When it is reloaded/put on line, it continues part of the print
spool, and then prints the first 7 to 10 pages of the spool over and over.
Example is:
1) print pages 1 to 12
2) run out of paper, lot's of time elapses
3) add paper, put on line
4) prints pages 13 -25 (report is 45 pages long)
5) prints pages 1-7 repeatedly, until some stops it or it runs out of paper.
We originally had it flashed with DEC ANSI, but then flashed it with
standard ANSI. It has XL emulation.
This doesn't fail if the paper shortage is caught quickly. We do batch
overnight printing, so it's annoying. It seems to print what's left in the
local buffer, and then repeat the first part of the spool,......becoming
stupid or unable to advance past the 1st buffer cache it processes,.....and
then repeats it continuously.
If we power cycle, you lose that one job in the spool, and it continues to
the next job with no problem.
Printronix tech support is baffled. Anybody experienced something like
this? or have a direction where to look?
The printcap entry is:

:rp=d1prn:\

:sd=/usr/spool/lpd94:\
