How to change resolution of 9FX motion card on boot up

All,
We have a TRUCluster ASE with two Alphaserver 2100 using a 9FX MOTION 331
card as the console graphics controller. These cards came with the 2100's
when they were purchased. The problem is that we can not use the console
for any of our GUI's because of the resolution that is being selected at
system boot. My question is, is there a way to modify either the kernel or
SRM or in the ECU configuration so that it does not select 640X480 at
system boot. If I look at the /usr/var/adm/messages file it sees the card
as a 9FX motion 331 but says it is selecting 640X480. This card supports
resolution up to 1280X1024.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

regards,
brian
