hi managers,

we recently bought an additional scsi-card for our alphaserver running
4.0B,PL7. our vendor told us that we just had to throw the card into the
machine - the system would autorecognize it. this obviusly was wrong!
booting with the genvmunix showed me that i had to install another bus
in the kernel config file:

-> psiop0 at pci2000 slot 1

and after that the addtional card

-> scsi1 at psiop0 slot 0

so i changed the kernel config file to:

[...]
-> bus isp0 at pci2000 slot 0 vector ispintr
-> bus psiop0 at pci2000 slot 1 vector ispintr
-> controller scsi0 at isp0 slot 0
-> controller scsi1 at psiop0 slot 0
[...]

rebuilt the kernel & the scsi-card along w/ the external device was
recognized. but i'm not quite sure about the last entry:
taking a wild guess by looking at how the other busses/controllers are
addressed i would say that i need to change the 'ispintr' entry to
something like 'psiopintr'

could somebody confirm? give an explanation? maybe also a hint where to
look for the docs for that?

cheers,
