Shadow passwords/ auth.db

Hi,

  I need to update auth.db using a passwd file. The passwd file comes from
a host running sunOS.

  The updates have to be automated and done hourly; so password changes on
the SunOS host can be propagated to the tru64 host.

  Can this be done?
  If not, are there alternatives?
