hi gurus,
after an upgrade of 20 AS800 from the 4.0B to 4.0D with patch
kit3 and firmware 5.4, all the TLZ09 don't work. i can tar, vdump and
cpio but i cann't untar, vrestore or cpio.
at first i think that the TLZ09 are bad, i replace one of it
but no way.
when i try to restore the tape in an other type of
alphaserver: it worked.

            Configuration of a typical AS800:
                OS: 4.0D patch kit3
                firmware: 5.4
                scsi card: ISP1020 firmware 5.57
                TLZ09: hardware revision 04, firmware revision DEC0172

i found in the archive that there are some problems with
this type of scsi card ( speed adaptation that is resolved with firmware
5.2 and above), others proposed to type at the console:
>>>isp1020_edit -sd

this is the error message when i do:
            # tar cv /etc/hosts
            cam_logger: CAM_ERROR packet
            cam_logger: bus 0 target 5 lun 0
            isp_process_response_queue
Autosence did not occur after check condition
