How to Delete Patch Backups?

I have a box that is running out of space on /usr. The largest amount of
"wasted" space I can find is the /usr/var/adm/patche/backup directory. I
would like to delete its contents, since I don't think we will uninstall
any patches. What's the "approved" way of doing this?
