duplicate ldb

i have a partition on /dev/rz2g named /usr/data. for some reason i have an
identical copy of the ldb and ldb_history files on that partition as appear in
/var/adm/lmf. is this an upgrade feature of 4.0D? i'ld like to remove the
files on /usr/data. a search for ldb+SUMMARY in the archives returned no
insight. tia.
