Cron job wont stop running.

Hi

one of my old users left a cron job running on our 8400 ( running 4.0B
PK9 upgrading it next month to 4.0F).

I removed the entry in the crontab for the user. However the job
still runs. I have also checked the at jobs and the user was added
into the cron.deny and at.deny files. Yet the job still runs.

Anyone any ideas of how to stop this ( other than a reboot)? I did
toy with the idea of sending cron a HUP signal, but didnt as I havent
a clue what it might do to the system.

Any help would be appreciated
