Yes it does sound real bad, but I can't find any documentation on the error.
Out of frustration I failed the drive with the errors and then set it back
to optimal. I was then able to mount it, and it is now operating normally,
no data lost. Unforunatly the "Shelf failure on channel 2." error still
persists, although the entire RAID controller appears to be working
correctly. Why?
