Folks,
Our mail server ran on Ultrix until about four years ago, when
I moved it to Digital Unix shortly after arriving at my current
job. The previous sysadmin had aliased all users from their
login name to their full email address. That is, our alias
file looked like:
user1 user1_at_ssc.wisc.edu
user2 user2_at_ssc.wisc.edu
and on. I kept this procedure when I moved sendmail to DU. I do
not know why the previous admin did this, but my question is: is
there any reason why this needs to be done? Perhaps there was a
reason on Ultrix that is not applicable to Digital Unix/Tru64?
