You're using a virtual memory system. If the amount of free
memory is already at the point that the system is paging,
then running the memory exerciser isn't going to reduce
that significantly further. The system will page more, but
only to keep the size of the free list at some predetermined
minimum value.

I don't know what affect memx has when doing shared memory
tests.
