Duplication of System Disk

Sysadmin Gurus,

I have a Alpha 2100 server running DU 4.0D. The system disk is an
external 4.0 GB SCSI ST15150N. What is the best way to create a duplicate
backup system disk in the event of a system disk failure (which just
happened recently and I rebuilt a new system disk from a 0 level dump tape)
so that all I have to do is shutdown the system and replace the failed
system disk with the backup copy.

TIA,
