4.0D Patch Kit 4

I just loaded Patch Kit 4 on a AS2100. This system reads files from an
NFS-mounted
directory that originates on an AS4100. These are large files created by a
Sybase backup
routine in order to create replicate databases on the 2100. Since loading patch
kit 4, the
Sybase DBA is receiving an error message that indicates an i/o error after
reading 2G.
Did patch kit 4 set some kind of 2G boundary??? There are no OS error messages
in
/var/adm/messages. Is this some kind of kernel change that DEC(aka Compaq,
Tru64,
DUX -- whatever) slipped into the patch kit like a mickey into a shirley temple?
