Exceed and vi and tru64 UNIX

Dear Managers,

This is not a fatal problem - only an irritation....
I've been using Exceed v6 as an x-windows interface to dunix 4.0x.
I have noticed that when I have a terminal session open, and am using vi to
edit a large file, the ctrl-d and ctrl-u (scroll down, scroll up) operations
will "hang" after several iterations. I need to use the up (or down) arrow
keys to get the terminal session un-hung.
But I've not seen this problem on 4.0a - only on 4.0d (with various patch
kits).
Has anyone else seen this? Any suggestions (besides using ctrl-f ctrl-b)?
                                Thanks,

                                Jim
