Dear admins,
I am just preparing for my first "real" installation of Tru64
(not counting those on the admin course).
The machine in question is a DEC 3000 M500 with the following
disks:
rz1 rz2 rz3 rz8 rz9 rz11 rz12 rz13 rz14
RZ25 RZ25 RZ26 RZ28 RZ28 RZ28 RZ28 RZ28 RZ28
of which rz8 .. rz14 (and rmt0) are in an external shelf,
these disks contain user file systems (which I intend to reorganize
later) and two swap spaces (rz13g, rz14b; 264 MB each).
Currently, rz3a has the root partition of a 3.2C installation,
whereas all space on rz1 and rz2 is available, my intention
was to use these two disks for /, /usr, and /var (doing a
"custom installation" with very little optional stuff).
The machine will keep a dual-boot installation with 3.2C
to be upgraded later, rz3 would take the other system (4.0D or 5.0).
Reading the installation guide for 4.0F, I found table 3-3
"Supported Disks for root File System" which lists RZ26
disks as being supported but not RZ25.
Does that mean I cannot install 4.0F to rz1 and rz2 (both RZ25),
or is this just a way of telling me a single RZ25 will be
too small ?
Thank you for any tips,
Joerg Bruehe
