Hi,
I apologise if this is slightly off-topic, but on this list I have a target
audience that uses the platform for which I am responsible.
I have been asked to provide a md5 solution that impliments a crunch to a
key
of text. This is covered in rfc-1321 for the purposes of interchange of
small
parcels of information between a True64 box (Alpha 4100 4.0D BL12) and a
Windows NT server (i386).
I have downloaded the textutils package and gone through the make and
compile
routine which produces an executable that runs, and produces the expected
output
for a null field. But if it is asked to run against real text it does not
produce
the expected answers either as per Appendix A.5 of the rfc or as per the
software
running at the other end, which will produce the expected results.
has anyone managed to get the code supplied in the rfc to compile using cc ?
Has anyone managed to get a MD5 solution to this problem in general ?
Did I miss something blithering obvious ? Any help or comments accepted.
