Hello managers,
it's the first time that I haven't been able to accomplish my backup.
The types are OK because I'm getting the same result using either of them
as the first volume, and according to the information the dump is putting
out, writing is going successfully until the very end of the first type. The
dump fails moving to the volume #2 because it cannot then open /dev/rmt0h.
Afterwords I'm getting the bunch of errors on the console, and uerf puts out
OS EVENT TYPE 199 CAM SCSI error.
Does it seem like a hardware error? (I'd rather it wasn't...)
I've found a similar message in the archives but without a summary.
As far as I can remember, on the old 3.2c I got the message like "press <CR>
when you are ready" when moving to the second volume. Now it hangs on the
beginning of the new line without any prompt after suggesting changing
volume. After I have changed it, the drive is buzzing a short while and then
the errors appear (On the 4.0D I haven't made multi-volume backup yet).
What I've already tried:
pointing the device explicitly, deleting and creating new special files, reboot.
Nothing has helped.
Here is my log:
