ADDENDEUM: tlz06 problem

Thanks you all for your prompt responses. My problem still exists but now
I have a clearer handle on the problem. The Networker logs showed SCSI
bus_errors right before each tape received an IO error and then
incorrectly marked as full. As suggested I checked the uerf
(unfortunately we don't seem to have DECevent installed, an oversight I
will remedy) and found similar reports, CAM SCSI errors with bus resets.
Also a full tapex -E completed with no errors.

I would be inclined to start thinking I have some sort of a hardware
problem but I have two identical machines that seem to have the same
problem which would preclude a independent hardware prob. We have 4.0e
with no patches now (we plan to go to 4.0f w/patches). Are there any
patches that have anything to do with the CAM SCSI system or anything
vaguely related? I hate to apply patches right before we upgrade (maybe
the upgrade will fix?)

Does anyone have any good suggestions of resources for research on the CAM
system and debugging it?

As always I appreciate any help you can offer.
