There are test versions of Open3D software available for download via
anonymous FTP from these locations:

Tru64 UNIX V4.0D:
  ftp://ftp.service.digital.com/private/open3d/ps3x0v14-beta1a-V40D.tar
 <ftp://ftp.service.digital.com/private/open3d/ps3x0v14-beta1a-V40D.tar>

Tru64 UNIX V4.0E, V4.0F, and V4.0G:
  ftp://ftp.service.digital.com/private/open3d/ps3x0v14-beta1a-V40EFG.tar
 <ftp://ftp.service.digital.com/private/open3d/ps3x0v14-beta1a-V40EFG.tar>

Tru64 UNIX V5.0 and V5.0A:
  ftp://ftp.service.digital.com/private/open3d/ps3x0v14-beta1a-V50A.tar
 <ftp://ftp.service.digital.com/private/open3d/ps3x0v14-beta1a-V50A.tar>

  The kit will identify itself within the setld description field as:
  "Beta1a--05Nov99". Driver module is "v18.00".

  Notes:

  * The actual O/S versions that will be officially supported is subject
  to change. Do not assume that an O/S version listed here is a guarantee of
  support in the v1.4 release.

  * Tru64 UNIX V4.0G and V5.0A are both in pre-release stages. Support
  for these versions in this release will likely be latent at best. But if
  they are available to you, please do try them and give us feedback.

  * The following platforms are supported by the driver, although each
  platform is subject to its own limitations, such as PCI slot availability,
  thermal issues, firmware issues, etc.: XP1000, XP900, DS10, ES40, DS20,
  DS20E, DPWS Enhanced a/au. (Beware: a platform listed here indicates that
  the driver has been tested to some degree on that platform. There is no
  guarantee that the PowerStorm 300/350 will be officially supported on each
  of these platforms.)

  * Currently, at most 8 heads can be identified in one system. This
  limit is subject to change.

  * Some server platforms require new code in the programmable Altera
  chip to resolve VGA console issues.

  * ECOs are being considered to address pixel corruption experienced on
  some platforms under heavy load, especially in multihead
  configurations with
  several heads.

  Changes/Fixes since the v1.4 Beta1 kit:

  * Added kit for V5.0 and V5.0A.

  * Brought V5.0/A kernel device driver in to sync with drivers for
  V4.0*.

  * Fixed bug in assembly pipe which crashed Pro/E Bench99.

  * Fixed a few line texture filter selection bugs, although it is
  mostly still broken.

  Known limitations of Beta1a:

  * PTR 93-5-14: hiddenline reveals line texture-filtering bug

  * PTR 93-5-76: VGA console color issue with more than three heads

Please respond with any feedback on this kit, positive or negative, and I'll
pass it along to the development team.

Tom
