I haved the same problem with TRU64 4.0F and i solved it:
You must have a directory /ris on your RIS server which contains two
links
r0k1 and r0p1.
r0k1 must point on the kernel in the RIS installation directory
r0p1 must point on the root of the RIS installation directory
In my case I have:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root ris 33 Oct 2 09:37 /ris/r0k1 ->
../var/adm/ris/ris0.alpha/vmunix1
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root ris 35 Oct 2 09:37 /ris/r0p1 ->
../var/adm/ris/ris0.alpha/product_1
You must also export your /ris directory. In my /etx/exports I have:
/ris/r0p1 -root=0 -ro
