What must be one of the last bastions of VMS in an academic research environment is finally getting converted to Unix (DU-4.0F or maybe we'll go 5.0, havn't
decided yet). We'll be transitioning about 800 users, mostly faculty, scientists, and graduate students. We're currently talking doing this in the
January-March time frame.
Any advice people could give that might make the transition go smoother would be appreciated. In particular, pointers to good teaching material for a short
"Mastering Unix basics for (ex)-VMS users" course would be wonderful.
