Dear managers!
The solution to my problem was so obvious that I feel a little
embarrased now. Please take my apologies for bothering you!
Thanks a lot for lots of answers coming in as fast as lightning. The

Before I purchased the machine it had an IDE drive for the system disk
(a fact I haven't been aware of) which required the CDROM to be
configured as a slave device. Now that the machine is equipped with a
SCSI controller there is no longer a master device. Unfortunately the
vendor didn't reconfigure the CDROM. Doing so eliminates the problem!
Original message follows:
When trying to boot a PW433 from the V4.0f CD the following messages are
displayed infinitely after a while:
ataintr
Interrupt not expected
cam_LOGGER: CAM-ERROR packet
cam_logger: bus 0 target 0 lun 0
Flushing buffer - non-exptd intr
flush buffer for non-exptd intr
. .
. .
The machine has got the usual ELSA Gloria Synergy Graphics option, a 9.1
GB Quantum disk on a Qlogic controller an a CD-ROM which is recognised
as dqa1 (?). The SRM console firmware identifies itself as V7.0-11 so I
consider it up to date.
Does anyone out there know what might be wrong?
