Hi Gurus,
I am trying to update firmware of a DEC 3000 300X through the
bootp procedure. I have added the m300_v7_0.btp file to a /dir in a
DEC 3000 600 server and given permission so that anybody can read
it. I have also edited /etc/bootptab and /etc/inetd.conf accordingly
to the instructions in .txt file that accompanies the .btp file (in
short, activated bootpd and tftpd). When booting the host with
>>> b ez0
I get
. . .
Host server IP address is xxxxxxxx
AUDIT_BSERVER_FOUND
?T_ERR_NI - RECEIVE_TIMEOUT
In the server side, daemon.log shows messages like
bootpd[5219]: request from Ethernet address XX.XX.XX.XX.XX.XX
bootpd[5219]: found xxx.xx.xx.x (XX.XX.XX.XX.XX.XX) at (hostname)
bootpd[5219]: vendor magic field is 0.0.0.0
bootpd[5219]: sending reply (with no options)
bootpd[5219]: setarp xxx.xx.xx.x - XX.XX.XX.XX.XX.XX
Anybody has an idea of why the .btp file is not being transmitted?
