Sean O'Connell [sean_at_stat.Duke.EDU] told me something looked
"fishy" ;-) Well yes, but the reason was not wrong target/id. The
reason was, that it was recignized as a Jukebox. (Chris Jankowski)

So even though I got helpful advice and hints from rich, John J.
Francini and Philip Ordinario concerning booting with genvmunix
(which I had done) and making devices, this particular drive is
a "no go" on Tru64 (and Dec 3000?).

Well I have a XL366 with Linux (Redhat 6.0) installed and it
works at least as an normal cd-drive. Haven´t tried it with
        cdrecord yet...

It is an ancient JVC XR-W2001 Rev 2.20.
