Well thanks to everyone to who responded (too many to list).
Most of you suggessted the TZ8X (mostly the TZ89). We are looking into this
options.

I am looking for recomendations for a tape backup system for a AlphaServer
1000A 5/400. Needs to backup about 36 gig worth of stuff daily.
If you know of any good tape backup systems for a setup like this (that can
do tape backups from a command line)
