Monitoring RAID array with DU4.0E

Is there any way to monitor the status of the disks in a KZPSC-BA RAID
array from the command line?
We are running Tru64 4.0E with the latest patch kit on two AlphaServers,
2100A and a 4100. Each server has KZPSC-BA RAID controllers.
I happened to be at the console of the 2100 and looked down to see one of
a pair of mirrored disks had failed. In checking the logs, the only
notification of the failure was on a re-boot. Since we try NOT to reboot
these systems except when necessary, is there any way to find out about
such a failure on an active server from within unix?
I understand that with Tru64 5.0 and newer RAID arrays, this IS possible,
but due to Oracle requirements, we can't go to 5.0 yet, and due to money,
we can't upgrade the RAID arrays right now...
Any ideas out there?

Thanks!
