Thanks to Alan (alan_at_nabeth.cxo.dec.com) my problem was solved
the Alans answer was:
A TL892 is three SCSI devices, two TZ89 tape drives and
a TL800 media changer. Does the host not see any of the
devices or just some of them? When you added the TL892
did it have its own SCSI adapter? Has the kernel been
rebuilt to recognize that new SCSI adapter?
All versions of Tru64 UNIX, Digital UNIX and DEC OSF/1
have been very good about being able to find new devices
on SCSI busses that the kernel knows about. However, when
you add a new bus, you need to rebuild the kernel to
know to look for it. There should be a section in one
of the system management guides on doing this. The short
version is:
1. Save a copy of the current /vmunix.
2. Shutdown and boot /genvmunix.
3. Mount the local file systems (bcheckrc is a good way
to do this, since it will handle starting LSM and
checking UFS).
4. Run doconfig.
5. Copy the new kernel to /vmunix and reboot.
Question was:
TL892 is seen by console comand show dev, but is not seen by unix command
scu show edt. Can anybody explain what happened?
