I am maintaining three alpha servers, and would like to use the dxaccounts
program for user maintenance. This is not a problem on the main server, but
on the two test servers dxaccounts has some problems. First, it does not
list all users in the /etc/passwds file. Second, any new user added to
dxaccounts is given the user id of 200, which has already been assigned in
the passwds file. Also, users added through dxaccounts do not show up in
dxaccounts one the program has been closed and re-opened. I have gone
through the man pages and compared all related files for dxaccounts on the
server that works and the two that do not, any I cannot find any
differences.
The previous administrator did not like the dxaccounts GUI, and may have
just copied the passwds file from server to server. Any suggestions would be
appreciated! All three servers are on version 4.0d.
