Running DU4.0F w/ PK2 installed
here's the dilly-o. This server is running apache, ftp, qpopper,
sendmail, named, mysql...etc...
Occasionally, we get hundreds and sometimes thousands of zombie'd
processes. This seems to slow down the server greatly. Like right
now, there are 500 processes, and 973 zombie'd processes. the number
of zombie'd just hovers around the same number for a while, then goes
down to 0 in 1 tic....
My question is...What would be causing this? Or...How can i prevent
this many zombie'd processes from occuring?
Thanks...
