system hung + add more memory

Hi Managers,

I have two issues needs a help

1- I have a AXP 4100 running DU 4.0f with 2 network cards ( 1 ethernet
and 1 token ring). when copying data over either cards to a any node in
the lan, the AXP 4100 hung.

2- if I add more memory to an alpha system, Do I have to build the
kernel, or modify any kernel parameters ?
