Hi, folks.
I have three 1200 machines which should be fairly similar. One difference,
though, is that one of them got two processors, the others one. I run 4.0F
Now, if I take out the disks from the one with two processors and put them
into any of the others, they will not boot, or more correctly, they try to
boot but halt almost immediately. The firmware revision is 5.5.
I can boot those machines on genvmunix, though. That works. Then, I can use
sizer to get a new config file, create a new kernel, move it into place and
reboot. But still the thing wont boot.
This really puzzles me because that was what I thought I was supposed to do.
Where do I find a description of what to do exactly when I want to move my
system to another machine ?
Is there any information that I need to maintain besides of what is done by
sizer. For example, should I edit /etc/sysconfigtab or what about /PCITMP* ?
They look quite hardware'ish to me.
Yours,
Lars Bro
