Memory Leaks

This is more a general question than a specific problem.

I have a memory leak with one of the programs running in a rather heavily
loaded system and I'm trying to find which one. Does anyone have a cookbook
of tricks to aid in seeking out such programs? E.G. run sys_check / ps vg /
top / monitor.

I suppose I seek a 'what to look for' when free pages gets depleted. When I
run vmstat I can almost literally watch the pages disappear!

Thanks in advance,

Damien.
