I asked how to use ntp.conf to specify a 'virtual' ip address for xntpd to
bind to so that it would work in an ASE cluster. I had no direct replies.
However, thanks to Guido Schneider and Jim Belonis who suggested looking
at it from the other end ie the client pcs. They use tardis2000 and
automachron respectively which both allow more than one ip address to be
set for reference. The latter is a good freeware package with an
excellent GUI but will only check for the address that is currently
highlighted - it will not failover to other addresses.
Ah well, the package most of our users have is Abouttime which seems
pretty good. They will just have to suffer if our cluster fails over!
