SUMMARY: Ethernet address checksum error

Thanks to Dr. Thomas P. Blinn.
I did move the card to other PCI slot as Dr. Thomas P. Blinn suggestion but it
doesn't help. It was a hard-ware failure problem. Luckily my machine is on
warranty and Compaq just gave me a new card.
Dr. Thomas P. Blinn wrote:
In a case like this, I would first open up the system, reseat the card,
then power up as far as the console prompt and check the "ewa*" settings
(with a "show ewa*" command), if everything looks OK, I'd boot up as far
as single user mode and see if the problem recurs. You're getting into
the "tulip" driver, but when the driver goes out to the option card, it
finds an inconsistency in the Ethernet address data (and it needs that
data to turn on the card), so it's complaining. If reseating the card,
etc. does not fix the problem, then you probably have broken hardware
perhaps as a result of the power failure (a good UPS is worth what you
would pay for it in terms of improved hardware reliability), and you'll
have to replace it (or have it replaced).

My original message:
Hello All,
I had been using Alpha server DS20 Tru 64 UNIX 5.0 for a month as a web
server. Everything worked fine until today ( Electricity failure occurred
yesterday and I don't know until today I booted up the system).
     I have a problem with ethernet card KZPCM-DA on DS20 Tru 64 UNIX 5.0. I
looked at kernel.log. It said:
tu0: DECChip 21140 : Revision: 2.2
tu0: auto negotiation capable device
tu0: ethernet address checksum error
-Failed to configure device in PCI bus1, Slot 2 with driver tu
Any help?
