Hi Admins!

Well, this was very quickly!

Problem seems to be solved. Thanks to:
Eskil.Swahn_at_LDC.lu.se
Martin Barrett [martin.barrett_at_carltontv.co.uk]

Eskil was pointed me to put CONSOLE_MODE to ADVANCED. Then I was able to run
rcu.

Thanks again to all,
Regards,
Emil L. Dragic

Original message:
We have one problem which is related to SRM and ARC console, more than to
Tru64Unix.

Here is description:
Hardware:
GS60E (brand new)
2 * 2 6/525 CPU
2 * 4 GB RAM
1 * KFTHA
2 * PCI shelf (DWLPB)
1 3-chanel Mylex RAID (KZPAC-CB)
4 * KZPBA-CB
Software:
Firmware version 5.5-12

Well, we want to reconfigure disks on KZPAC (put it in RAID-1
configuration). According to manual, we have to bring up SRM console, set
ARC_ENABLED to ON and after system initialization, run Raid Configuration
Utility (RCU) with command:
P0>>> run rcu

But, when we issue "run rcu" command from SRM console we get response:
"RUN no such command"

Strange is that when type "help run" we get help about run and runecu
command, but when we type "help" (without parameters), the command "run"
isn't on list of existing command, (runecu it is).

The second try was bring up AlphaBios console. This time system is frozen
after few seconds. Hi just write few lines about:
"Loading AlphaBios firmware"
"Building FRU tables" and
"Starting AlphaBios"
and frozen after that

Of course, console variable was set to graphics, and os_type was set to NT
this time.

Same thing are happen when we try to bring up ARC console.

Also, we are try to update firmware, but everything is the same.

Thus someone has some experience with GS60E series? We also have one AS8400
(4 * 5/300 CPU, 2 * 2 GB, 1 3-chanel Mylex RAID) and on this system
everything was OK about starting ARC, RCU, ECU...
