I'd like to thank Michael Huntingdo, Octave Orgeron, Jan vandenBerg,
Nikola Milutinovi, Arrigo Triulzi and Tom Blinn for their help.

All I had to do was download open3d from digital
(http://www1.support.compaq.com/open3d/Unix_50.html)

install the package.
When it comes at compiling the kernel I added:
config_driver ingr

When I rebooted it says:

Feb 6 19:25:14 beta vmunix: ingr_vga0 at pci0 slot 11
Feb 6 19:25:14 beta vmunix: ingr0 at pci0 slot 12
Feb 6 19:25:14 beta vmunix: ingr0: Attached 4D50T.3.0.66.0xe FB.0.0.71.13.102.
4 TP.64.0

X started very nice in 1280x1024.

  Hello all,

I replaced my vga card in my PWS433 running Tru64 unix 5.0 for
  a powerstorm 4D50T.
  During bootup it says:

  Feb 5 20:41:23 beta vmunix: vga0 at pci0 slot 11
  Feb 5 20:41:23 beta vmunix: 640x480 VGA, 16 colors
Feb 5 20:41:23 beta vmunix: vga0: generic VGA driver
Feb 5 20:41:24 beta vmunix: kernel console: vga0

And I only have vga resolution.

When I install open3d X won't startup (after rebooting with the
  new kernel).

Is there a way to check if the card is working correct? Or
anything to be changed in the kernel?

I just noticed the following:

Feb 6 10:16:28 beta vmunix: Firmware revision: 7.0-10
Feb 6 10:16:28 beta vmunix: PALcode: UNIX version 1.22-0
Feb 6 10:16:28 beta vmunix: Digital Personal WorkStation 433au
Feb 6 10:16:28 beta vmunix: PCI device at bus 0, slot 12, function 0 could not
be configured:
Feb 6 10:16:28 beta vmunix: Vendor ID 0x1091, Device ID 0xe4, Base class 0x3, S
ub class 0x80 Sub-VID 0x0 Sub-DID 0x0
Feb 6 10:16:28 beta vmunix: has no matching entry in the PCI option table
Feb 6 10:16:29 beta vmunix: vga0 at pci0 slot 11
Feb 6 10:16:29 beta vmunix: 640x480 VGA, 16 colors
Feb 6 10:16:29 beta vmunix: vga0: generic VGA driver

slot 11 and 12 are used by the videocard.

When I try to put the videocard in some other slots it only fits
in one of them. I can't imagine to split the card ;-)
