Is anyone using the new Advanced Printing Software (APX)
that comes with Tru64 4.0F?
Our configuration for a physical printer shows:
Document Formats Supported: Postscript Text
Document Formats Ready: Postscript Text
I thought with that it would reject binary data but this
morning someone managed to print reems of garbage by
sending a binary file to the printer.
APX happily passed the junk down to the printer even though
the file command shows it as binary data.
What is the purpose of the document formats supported and
ready attributes?
Anyone know how I can get APX to not send binary data to our
printers? All our printers are postscript and can only
handle text, PCL and postscript.
Thanks
Ian
