Configuring Inetd to Listen on Selected Interfaces?

Is there any way to configure the "stock" inetd or a replacement version to
listen on for connections only on selected IP addresses or physical
interfaces? For example, if I have a host with two network interfaces on
separate networks, one "trusted" and one "untrusted," is there any way I
could configure inetd to listen for TELNET or FTP connections *only* on the
interface connected to the "trusted" network?

I know about TCP Wrappers, but I'd like to see if this is a possible
alternative.

Also, I know about "xinetd," but it doesn't compile correctly on Digital
Unix 4.0D -- heck, the "man" pages don't even print correctly! While I've
managed to hack it into compilable shape, I'm not really interested in
testing and maintaining a DU version if I don't have to.

Thanks!
