RAID Configuration Problems

We have a ES40 with twelve - 9.1GB drives in 2 shelves (6 in each). There are two 3-channel RAID controllers in this system. Each of the shelves is connected to 2 channels of a controller (channel 0 and 1).

The problem we are having when using the RA200RCU utility is that we don't seen to be able to create a logical RAID 5 drive with more than 4 drives in it. We can create the groups we can arrange the groups but when its time to create the logical drives it will not allow us to select the default size (in this case with six 9.1GB drive it was 43390MB). We have the same problem with a five disk RAID (default size is 34712MB). However we can create four disk RAID 5 (26034MB), a two disk RAID 1 or six JBODS without any problems.

I think is a size (MB) thing, I have a couple of other 4100s with multiple five or more disk per RAID 5 but using smaller 4 or 2GB drives.

This is driving me nuts, what am I doing wrong??

Thanks,

Alex
