The unanimous verdict is that it's not needed. The only reason would be if there is some application problem that needs a reboot to clear, in which case it is obviosly better to fix the problem than to constantly reboot.

The original question:
My management is requesting that I reboot our TruUnix 4.0d servers periodically, ranging from weekly to monthly. I have been monitoring memory, cpu and disk usage, as well as errors, and see no trends that would suggest a need to do this.
Does anyone out here no of any reasons why it would be necessary?
