Thanks to all who replied, a trace utitity is available from:-
ftp://ftp.mrc-lmb.cam.ac.uk/pub/jkb/alpha-trace-1.31.tar.Z
This was the one that I knew about - it just needed recompiling for
version 4.0f (& a little user-adjusting :)
