A user pointed out that there are odd msgs in the /var/adm/messages file:
Feb 16 17:56:28 gs140b vmunix: isp2 at pci1 slot 0
Feb 16 17:56:28 gs140b vmunix: cam_logger: CAM_ERROR packet
Feb 16 17:56:28 gs140b vmunix: cam_logger: bus 3
Feb 16 17:56:28 gs140b vmunix: isp_init
Feb 16 17:56:28 gs140b vmunix: Fatal Error - No firmware image is present to
loa
d
Feb 16 17:56:28 gs140b vmunix: cam_logger: CAM_ERROR packet
Feb 16 17:56:28 gs140b vmunix: cam_logger: bus 3
Feb 16 17:56:28 gs140b vmunix: isp_probe
Feb 16 17:56:28 gs140b vmunix: Common init failure - Failing probe
Feb 16 17:56:28 gs140b vmunix: isp2: Not probed.
Feb 16 17:56:28 gs140b vmunix: isp in slot 0 not configured.
Strange thing is, these msgs are only in /var/adm/messages - not in the
errorlog, not in /var/adm/syslog.dated/*/* files.
2 questions:
* What is the unique function of /var/adm/messages? Looks like it is
a rolling buffer, but one wouldn't think it would have info not
logged ANYWHERE else?!
* Anyone know what "firmware image" wants to be loaded, and what "probe"
is failing?
TIA!
