We have an AlphaServer8400 with dual-processors. It comes to the console
prompt and doesnot boot. At console prompt, the error displayed is
"WHO_R_YOU mailbox failed on configured hose port 0
.
.
.
*** Errors during power up, check event log ***"
In the self-test ST3, the KFTIA module in slot-8 is reported to be
failing. The show config justs displays

Actually, we have a KFTIA module in the slot-8. But the system is
identifying it as a KFTHA module.
The show dev command just comes back to the srm prompt.

The error log displays three main errors:
*** Hard Error - Error #1 Mailbox transaction error ***
..
..
*** Hard Error - Error #2 Data compare error ***
..
..
*** Hard Error - Error #3 Data compare error ***
..
..
with a long list of numbers & alphabets for each error. All errors say
that tiop_diag fails on device kftha0.
But, my fundamental doubt is that there is no KFTHA card in the system.
Now, is the KFTIA card really bad ? or the CPU is bad to recognise it as
KFTHA ? or should we do some settings/changes in environment-parameters or
in srm console ?
Any info about this problem will be of great help for us.
